Margie Leslie

Margie likes to paint what is around her, and she seems to paint in a series: boats, old autos, fruits and vegetables, flowers, reptiles, etc. She changes things up and paints in different mediums and different subjects, which stretch her strengths and challenge her weaknesses. It seems she learns something new about the medium she is using every time she picks it up. She paints in watercolor mostly, although she also uses color pencil, graphite, scratch art and is dabbling in oils, acrylics and pastel. She belongs to various are association in the area and has won several awards from their events.

Margie grew up in northern Idaho and moved to California in the early 70’s, then left the Bay Area for Minden in 2002. She began her artistic journey when her children were old enough to stay by themselves after school. She took every art offered at the community college. Some classes she took several times, producing several art pieces, but stopped until she moved to Minden. Since moving here, she has been happily producing lots of art and intends to continue until she can no longer hold her arm up to paint.
