Music, art and theatre have always taken Vickie's interest. As a long time resident of South Lake Tahoe, she was active in Community Theatre. Theatre opened doors to music, which lead her to becoming a vocalist. She worked the Tahoe-Reno area for years with several bands. Most recently, she sang with the Fulton Street Jazz Band out of Sacramento.
Now that she has moved back to Gardnerville, she says she has hung up her musical "spurs" and is devoting full time to her art. Her Indian Series, which is Photography, started the progression. The "Feather Series" offers a look at the modern day Pow Wows. It combines her vibrant approach with Native American history. Her art has been seen in Nevada Galleries and Interior Design Showroom.
She has taken Art classes at every opportunity. Vickie says," It's hard to settle on one medium. I love the richness of oils, as well as the sparkle of watercolor. Lately watercolor is winning, because I've started giving classes."
