Susanne Ziorjen

Native Swiss, Susanne found her way to the valley when her husband was working for an airline and on a business trips she was able to join him to the USA. On a extended weekend they drove from southern California up to Minden, where her husband wanted to have a look at the famous Minden Soaring site and visit the airport. They both immediately fell in love with the area and its friendly people and decided to buy a vacation-patio home here. As her hobby was drawing and watercolor painting, she was fascinated by the landscape, which was so different from Switzerland. The mountains are different from the Alps and the open space, especially to the east, was almost unbelievable for her.

After visiting one of the CVAA Scholarship-shows at the CVIC hall, Susanne got more and more involved in painting in this area, finally joining the East Fork Gallery as a consignor. She is glad about this art opportunity here in the Carson Valley, hoping that the gallery will, with the help of it's many great volunteers, continue to be successful for the years to come!
Susanne and her husband spend part of the year in Minden, so the gallery considers her our “worldly” local and is glad to hang her wonderful watercolors.
